Defiant Queen (Mount Trilogy #2) by Meghan March

The Mount Trilogy continues with Defiant Queen…

I’m his entertainment. His toy. Payment on a debt.
I tell myself I hate him, but every time he walks into the room, my body betrays me. How can I want him and fear him in the same moment?
They told me he’d mess with my head. Make it go to war with my body.
But I didn’t realize it would be complete anarchy.
I should’ve known better. When Mount’s involved, there are no rules.
I will not surrender. I will not show weakness. I’ll stand my ground and make it out of this bargain with my heart and soul intact.
But he has other plans . . .

“She held herself like a queen. Like a woman who could handle the intensity of the king that I have declared myself to be. No weaknesses, I remind myself again.”

Holy shit!!! This is what a sequel should be! This is seriously becoming an addiction. I’m like a crack fiend waiting for the next book to be ready. Hurry up December 19th!

I was hooked from the first page. I had to see what happened after that cliffhanger from book one. I never lost interest in this book. The relationship between Keira and Lachlan was still hot as ever but it was also changing. Both parties were developing different feelings but refused to bend.

“Neither of us is willing to give an inch. If I do, she’ll take a mile, and if she does, I’ll take a thousand.”

We get to see another side of Lachlan and it made me love this man so much more. There is more drama and twist and turns and I was more than happy to be along for the ride. This book also ended a cliffhanger that had me breathing hard praying that there was more. That ending was just plain mean!
