Rambles & Rants

So I wanted to make my blog a bit more personal and for me to be more vocal. Every once in a while I will post about things that are going on with me. So it can be from my personal life, like me talking about what happened during my week or about the book/blogging world.

Here are a few things that I feel like rambling about today. (NOTE: I hope you can follow along because my train of thought is always all over the place)

>>Posting what I want

I love reading anything and everything that interests me. I know that I don’t have an exact theme here, but I like it better that way. I like that you never know what book review to expect from me. Noted: I love romance so there will always be a ton of that. I have come across some people that don’t like romance at all. (I can’t read a book that doesn’t have a romantic aspect in it.)

The other day I was making a post about promoting a book that has a bit of a taboo theme, wanting your stepbrother. I was nervous about posting it because of what people would think of me. Yes, I read smut. One minute I’m reading smut then next I’m reading YA fantasy. I don’t want to feel ashamed by what I read.

>>Spending so much money on books

As we all know, books ain’t cheap! All of my non bookish friends are shocked when they visit a bookstore with me and hear what my total comes to.

I recently started visiting the library again and honesty can kick myself that I stopped going. They have some of the new releases, (granted there is will be a bit of a wait before you can get your hands on it) but the downfall can be that the library doesn’t always order them when they are newly released. For example, my library has already purchased The Wicked Deep by Shea Earnshaw but not To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo.

Bottom line, I need to use the library more to try and save some money on all the new releases before ya girl ends up broke.

>>More Mood reading

I recently read Sinful Empire (Mount Trilogy #3) by Megan March and was so swept into it that I forgot how picking a book on a whim could make me feel. It was great to just spend time reading without having to concentrate as much. I got lost in the story. Just reading for a purpose none other than just because it’s a good story.

I have declared April an almost ARC free reading month. I have an ARC of Aces of Shades by Amanda Foody that I really want to read.  I was thinking that once in a while I can take a month off and just read what I want.Floral Page Divider

So that was my first Rambles & Rants. I hope you were able to understand because sometimes I just don’t make any sense.

Do you have any of the same thoughts or problems? If so, how do you deal with it?

Thanks for reading!

  1. I haven’t used the library for over 10 years, but this year i started buying books in charity shops for like £1-2. Lot of the kindle books from my fave genre are going for £0.99 as well, so i think i managed to save some money on books in these few months 🙂

  2. I also can’t read a book that doesn’t have any romantic aspect in it. I enjoy reading smut and stepbrother romance and student-teacher romance but I stay far away from the Lolita and incest type books. Don’t worry nobody will think bad of you because I’ve wrote some book reviews with stepbrother romances like tijan’s books. Yeah, books have become way too expensive. Oh, I’m pretty excited about Ace of Shades. I’ve heard great things about it! I hope you enjoy it when you get to it.
    Great Post! 🙂

    1. I’m glad I’m not the only who reads it! I stay away from the incest books too, there is only so far I’m willing to go with the taboo subjects lol.
I can’t wait to get into Ace of Shades! That and To Kill A Kingdom are the books I have been super excited about

  3. You sure as hell should not be ashamed of what you want or like to read!!
I don’t use my library too much since they don’t have the releases I want (because Portugal 😅), so when I go there it’s for study purposes.
This year I haven’t bought a single book yet, my ban is going very well! 👌🏼
I like these posts, I’m all about ranting 😊

      1. That was me last year, I’d buy like 20 books at a time from AwesomeBooks, I don’t even know how many I bought 😅 And now I have a shelf full of unread books, so I’ve been very strict with myself. No more book buying until I’ve read a decent amount of them 👍🏼
