Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly blog meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s prompt was to pick books that surprised me. It said good or bad so let’s jump into it!
Let’s start with the books that surprised me in a bad way…
- Such a Good Girl by Amanda K Morgan
This was just a no. I thought I was going to get lost in a really good teen thriller, but all I got was a main character I couldn’t stand and ending that I still have freakin’ questions about.
- From Ashes by Molly Mcadams
It’s not that I didn’t like this one per say, it was just too much drama. There wasn’t just a love triangle going on, there were 3 damn love interests! I felt like the love I had for the relationship between Gage & Cassi was diminished as the story went on. I wanted somebody else for him honestly.
- After Every Happy (After #4) by Anna Todd
I already know that a ton of people hated this series, but it was one of my favorites. However this last book, I hated it. I was expecting a great ending for Tessa and Hardin and I felt as if I got jipped.
- Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas
I was already a minority when I reviewed this. So many people told me that I would love this book, so I gave it a try. My expectations were way too high! I didn’t like Ryen or Misha one bit.
- Possession (Steel Brothers Saga #1) by Helen Hardt
This another book where I read it because of the hype it was getting. All I got from this story was a guy who hid his emotions behind sex and pushover heroine.
Now let’s move on to some positivity with the books that surprised me in a good way!
- Until Friday Night (The Field Party #1) by Abbi Glines
I was not expecting this heartfelt book when I picked this up at my library last year. I thought it would be a classic Abbi Glines book but I was SO WRONG! This has a space on my bookshelf now because I loved it that much!
- It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
I haven’t read much by Colleen Hoover but, when I read this I loved it. This book consumed me, spit me, out and left me wondering what is life.
- The Thousandth Floor by Katherine McGee
I went into this knowing that it was going to a book full of meaningless drama and wanted the entertainment. I just didn’t expect to love it!
- Inception (The Marked #1) by Bianca Scardoni
I’m so glad I didn’t let the reviews deter me away from this one! I saw it was on KU and it sounded interesting enough. I fell in love with this series and I am currently stalking the author about book 4.
- Daugther of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
Last but not least, my new favorite book at the moment. I loved it so much, end of story.
So there is my list!
That’s the common thing I hear from readers who intend to read (and follow through with reading) A Thousandth Floor — that they’re not expecting too much out of it but just want to dive into drama — and then they come out enjoying it haha, so I’m glad this comment trend continues!
Cheers,

I can understand that! I have copies of books on my bookshelf that I bought a while back and STILL haven’t read.

Great list! I’m sorry Punk 57 didn’t work out for you. I actually loved it. I totally agree with you on DOTPK! It was a great read! I haven’t read The Thousandth Floor but I think I need to give it a shot.

The Thousandth Floor was good! I wasn’t too impressed with book 2 though.

1.) You’re the reason I’m going to pick up Daughter of the Pirate King! 2.) PUNK 57? NOOO! Haha, no, I actually totally get it. I think the only reason I gave it three or four stars was because I just pretended like their asses WERE NOT in high school! Haha! Amazing list, like always! And happy reading, beautiful! 💗xx

You should definitely read Daughter of the Pirate King!!!!
& I really tried with Punk 57. Believing all this was going in high school was at the top of “oh no” list with that book. He treated her like shit and she wasn’t no better. lol
