This is was really good! I am not into thrillers or mysteries but this one had me stuck to the book! 

This story is told in two different ways. We have Sadie’s POV and also from the narrator of a Podcast called The Girls. It did take a while to get used the concept, but it made the book better in my opinion. We are living in through real-time through Sadie’s POV and reading them put everything together in the podcast. 

Sadie is trying to kill the man that killed her younger sister Mattie. 

“I’m going to kill a man. I’m going to steal the light from his eyes.”

It was surreal to be on this journey with her. To see how far one would go to right a wrong. There are so many layers to our main character that I was becoming obsessed with her. I couldn’t wait to see how this story would play out. 

Our other main character is the narrator of the podcast, West McCray. We are tracing Sadie’s steps in his narrative. When this story was brought to him he didn’t want it. Soon, he gets sucked into trying to find Sadie and bring her home. 

“I didn’t want this story because I was afraid. I was afraid of what I wouldn’t find and I was afraid of what I would.”

I obviously can’t give anything away. It would be too easy to do so. This book was real and makes you think. This could happen to anyone that you know. Just know that this book did grip me and I really enjoyed it. Definitely give this a read when it comes out in September.
