So I was tagged by Kaleena over at Reader Voracious to participate in The Genre Tag. It seemed like a really fun way to express your love for one of your favorite genres.
I don’t know the originator of this tag, so please let me know if you do so I can credit them!
Let’s get into it!
What is your favorite genre?
Just in case it isn’t obvious by the majority of books that I review, it is and will always be romance.
Who is your favorite author from that genre?
I would have to say it’s a tie between Aurora Rose Reynolds and Kendall Ryan.
Both of these ladies will make me lose my shit if they post about a new release. Aurora writes the alpha heroes that I know and love, while Kendall always has the right amount of steam in her books.
What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?
I am a hopeless romantic. I love reading about people falling in love and having these stories play out in my head. I adore almost all the tropes … well except love triangles. I hate those!
What is the book that started your love for that genre?

If you had to recommend at least 1 book from your favorite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading this genre, what book would you choose and why?
Oh goodness, these questions are hard! I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I would have to ask more questions. What’s your favorite trope? Do you like love triangles? What about a bit of mystery thrown in with the romance? What about romcoms?
As you can see, there are wayyyyy too many options out there for me to narrow it down to one book. I’ve never recommended the same book twice to a person. Everyone likes different things.
Why do you read?
I read to escape daily life. 40 work weeks and all the other adulting things of the world don’t matter when I have a book in hand. I read because I can’t picture a world where books aren’t in it.
Who do I tag?
I tag anyone who wants an excuse to talk about one of their favorite genres!
Thank you for reading!
I also am a hopeless romantic Kayla 😉

Being a hopeless romantic means that there will never be a shortage of romance for us to read!

I knew you would choose romance and I really enjoyed reading your answers, Kayla! I don’t read much romance but can swoon now and then when it is done really well. Slow burn romances in SFF are going to be the death of me, and that’s the real tea.
