Fallen Crest High
SERIES: Fallen Crest High
by Tijan
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

I read this back in 2016 and never reviewed it. I was feeling a slump was coming on so I decided to read something familiar and to also see if I loved it as much as I did back then. While my rating did fall from 4 to 3 stars, I was still entertained.
Young Kayla devoured this and loved it without a second thought. Now that I actually review books I can see some issues that I overlooked. However, it doesn’t take away from how entertaining this is. It’s a good book for spending the day reading.
My biggest issue was that nobody seemed to realize that Sam’s running was a deeper thing than just her wanting to exercise. She was running to numb herself. Running for hours or until your body almost passes out isn’t healthy. She was using it an escape and I wish someone would have realized that it could be a mental issue. Everyone noticed her running but never reached out to see if it could be more than that.
Which leads me to my next topic. Is there anybody in this book who was a good friend to Sam? Anybody? With friends like these, who needs friends? Even Becky wasn’t that great to her. She was always between wanting to stay in Adam’s good graces or being friends with Sam. Don’t even get me started on Adam. I think he deserves another punch.
I didn’t fall for Mason like I did the first time I read this. I never truly got a read on his feelings for Sam until towards the end. Some of the things that he did, I still have questions about. (view spoiler).
I did enjoy my reread for the most part. Since the audiobooks are a part of the romance package on audible, I can see myself listening to more.

I’ve only read 5% of this book years ago but never continued it. The drama gave me a migraine. lol.

Great review, Kayla! I’ve read this back in 2013 and loved it! I haven’t read rest of the series but I hope I’ll get back to it someday in the future.

I only read up until book 3 a few years ago. I’m hoping to maybe finish the series this year.

I loved the book so much but I am curious what a reread would give now! And you are right about no one being Sam’s friends!

It’s sad because the girl needs just one reliable friend her life. But I only read up to book 3 the first time so I want to actually finish it this time around!

I feel like a lot of books that I re-read end up dropping a star or two the second time I read it.I haven’t heard of this one, but I’m glad you still enjoyed it.

My ratings always seems to drop the most when it’s from books that I read when I was in my teens.
