Never Seduce a Scot
SERIES: The Montgomerys and Armstrongs
by Maya Banks
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched.” Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn’t speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty—unprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions.
Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.
I ADORED this book ya’ll! Once I started reading, I just couldn’t put it down. I loved the plot, the characters, and damn near everything about it.
Eveline was such a great heroine to read about. To escape a marriage to a douche, she pretends to be simple but she’s amazingly smart. I adored her wit, and her willingness to adapt to her situation. She wanted a new start and marrying Graeme was her way. It also helped that he was laird who was extremely good looking.
Graeme has taken the ranks as one of my historical romance book boyfriends. He was so damn sweet and kind to Eveline that I couldn’t help but swoon every time she showed her affection. He loved her without hesitation and adored her and the ground she walked on.
Can I just say that these two were perfect together and also perfect for each other? Because they were. The way they loved each other me all kinds of happy you guys.
“I don’t simply care for her. I love her. She is my entire life. Without her, I am nothing. I have nothing.”
I wasn’t expecting this sweet and special love story between these two. This book will go down as a historical romance favorite for me. Also, if you pick this book up, please be sure to read the acknowledgments. This book is based on her husband’s hearing and if that doesn’t make you teary-eyed, then you have a heart of stone!

Yessss!! This book was great and though I was pissed at how Graeme’s clan treated her from time to time, I really ended up loving Eveline and I cried a lot too. So good!

I hate historical fiction with a passion (with the exception of outlander) but this gave me some strong Jamie Fraiser vibes, so now I kind of want to waddle to this one…? MY EMOTIONS ARE CONFUSED NOW BY THE GREATNESS OF THIS REVIEW! TO TBR OR NOT TBR! THAT IS THE QUESTION!
