Even a ghost hunter like Rosie Herpin couldn’t have foreseen the fateful meeting between two mourners that has brought her so intimately close to the notorious and seductive Devlin de Vincent. Everyone in New Orleans knows he’s heir to a dark family curse that both frightens and enthralls. To the locals, Devlin is the devil. To Rosie, he’s a man who’s stoking her wildest fantasies. When a brutal attack on her friend is linked to the de Vincents, he becomes a mystery she may be risking her life to solve.
Devlin knows what he wants from this sexy and adventurous woman. But what does Rosie want from him? It’s a question that becomes more pressing—and more dangerous—when he suspects her of prying into the shadows of his past.
Now, the legends surrounding the de Vincents may not be myths at all. But if she’s to discover the truth, she must follow them straight into the arms of the man she can’t resist—the handsome devil himself.
It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the de Vincent brothers. However, I must say that this was my favorite of all three books. I wasn’t sure if I was ready for Devlin’s story, but I blew through this!
Being in Devlin’s head was addicting! I loved reading how he thought and what was going on with him. I felt so much for him once we found out his back story and how much he does to keep his family together. Don’t get me wrong, he still had his asshole moments… a lot of them, but I dare you to read this and not feel for him. If any of these brothers deserved love, it was Devlin.
Rosie was such a spitfire that I knew she was going to my favorite of the brother’s women. She was so damn witty and I loved her comebacks. She suffered a loss and didn’t let that stop her from moving on with her life and finding happiness again.
Devlin and Rosie were perfect for each other. This was a bit like enemies to lovers and it was hot! The chemistry and the banter had me glued the page waiting to see what would happen next between these two. Any time they were in a room with each other I knew we were going to get some witty banter. Rosie wasn’t scared to call Devlin out on how he treated other people and her. She didn’t just let him run all over her.
So many secrets came out in this book that I was shocked. Like for real shocked! There was only one that I saw coming, the rest completely blew me away. Loved all the plot twists!
I will say that 400 pages was too long. Everything could have been wrapped up earlier than dragging it out until the last second.
Other than the length of the book, I really enjoyed this one and am sad say goodbye to this messed up family!

Do you see what I meant by possibility for a 4th book? I don’t think it’s happening though.
