Wrap Up

October 2019 Wrap Up

Hi friends, it’s time for another monthly wrap up!

While I read more than I did in September, I feel like October was rougher book-wise for me. While I’m typing this post (10.30.19) I feel so slumpy and I hate it. If you notice, I read so many mangas this month and that’s because it’s the only thing that really held my attention. I’m happy to say that with all the manga I’ve read, the Manga Wrap up will be included here!

With that being said, I did read some books that I loved. Foul is Fair and The Female of the Species are books dedicated to rape culture and I think everyone should read them. I also found a new favorite manga series, Happy Marriage. It is mature so make sure you can handle that. Without further ado, let’s get into my wrap up of October!

Best Book Read

Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin

Least Favorite Book

War by Laura Thalassa

Now before we jump into books, let’s talk about music and TV.

Image result for super mI had been anticipating the debut of SuperM for what feels like forever. So of course, I couldn’t help but listen to the mini album all month. While there are less than 10 songs here, they have become my third favorite band. SM Entertainment really knew what they were doing when they put all of these talented guys together in this group.

I have been watching and obsessing over My ID is Gangnam Beauty. I have had this on my watchlist for quite some time and I’m so glad that I finally sat down to watch it. I’m only 5 episodes in (I forgot how long kdrama episodes are) but I can’t wait to see how this turns out.

Now to the main reason of this post, the books! This month I’ve read 11 books, 15 erotic romance novellas, and 30 mangas.

Manga Wrap Up

Copy of Manga Wrap UpHappy Marriage?! by Maki Enjoji – If we are friends on Goodreads then you know that I have been obsessed with each volume of this series that I read. 4/10 VOLUMES

Ao Haru Ride by Io Sakisaka – My best friend Sarah loves this anime/series and I finally got around to reading them since they are translating the manga to English. I love these characters and they MUST be protected at all cost! 5/13 VOLUMES

Kimi ni Todoke by Karuho Shiina – This is another one of those series that I always heard about but never picked up. I’m pretty far into the series now and while I do like it, some things have gotten on my nerves. Especially the miscommunication! I heard that once they finally get together it goes downhill so I might read a few more volumes so I can determine that on my own. 10/30 VOLUMES

Kaiju Girl Caramelise by Spica Aoki – This was a series that I was looking forward to since I enjoyed the author’s work previously. While the artwork was cute, the story itself was just meh to me. I might pick the second volume when it releases next month but it’s not high on my list. 1/- VOLUMES (series is ongoing)

So here is my wrap up for October, moving on to November!

  1. Oh wow, so much manga!! That’s awesome!! I’ve truly been wanting to read more, especially as it’s getting harder and harder to read full-length novels with school. I’m glad you had such a good month!! What’s your favorite song off of Super M’s album?

  2. After your War review, I’m just ignoring it as it stares at me from kindle. I don’t want to be disappointed right now!
This is an awesome reading month though! It’s so cool to see how your love of manga has grown over the last year. Glad to see that you found something you really love!

  3. There’s honestly something in the air because I had the SAME Feeling about October! I read a decent amount but larger felt meh and found it hard to focus. I am glad you were able to read a lot of manga, though! It’s still reading! It counts! I hope November is better to you, love!

    1. Manga has been my saving grace! I’m always so grateful to the genre.
And October was just slump city. I hope with all the christimas releases coming up that it will keep me excited to read.
