Hello Friends! I finally reread Paper Princess! This book was the most popular on my Books I Would Like to Re-Review blog post. I was nervous but I remembered LOVING this when I read it last year.
Paper Princess
Series: The Royals
Author: Erin Watt
Check it Out: Goodreads
From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.
These Royals will ruin you…
Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.
Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.
Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.
He might be right.
Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

I was scared to reread Paper Princess. I didn’t know if I would hate it or still be in love with the story. The verdict is that I’m still obsessed!
“You should know whatever game you’re playing, you can’t win. Not against all of us. If you leave now, you won’t be hurt. If you stay, we’ll break you so bad that you’ll be crawling away.”
I forgot how addicting it could be. I ended up finishing it in two days’ time and fell in love all over again. Is it problematic? Yup! However, I don’t really care about that.
Ella will always be one of my favorite protagonists. She didn’t just roll with the punches. She was sassy and a fighter. Even though she had her vulnerable moments, homegirl didn’t take no shit! The authors made her character relatable without being bitchy and over the top. *cough* like Meagan Brandy*. We get that she’s tough but it’s not being shoved down our throats.
I also forgot how messy and crazy the Royal family was. They all had secrets and these brothers were mean, savage, and just plain assholes. However, you can’t help but want to know more about them. My favorite Royal is still Easton! He cracks me up and makes my heart ache at the same time.
Ella and Reed’s chemistry still gripped me and made me not want to put the book down. It was electric and I couldn’t wait for them to give in. Every single interaction or fight between them was foreplay and I was living for it.
Even though I knew it was coming, the cliffhanger still got to me. I’m already anxious to go pull book two off my bookshelf!
I’m dying here laughing because of that “cough”!!! So true!

I hate how much I love “trashy” books like this because of how people tend to react. I should ignore it, but people always have opinions about books like this or those that are similar. It’s tough being able to say hey I like these books when people tend to act judgmental in my own experiences.

I love trashy books and will scream it from the rooftops. Everyone’s trying so hard to say they are terrible but honestly, some of these popular books ain’t great.
