The Match
Series: It Happened in Charleston
Author: Sarah Adams

The day I meet with single dad, Jacob Broaden, about potentially matching his daughter with one of our service dogs, I learn a few valuable lessons.
1) Always set my alarm clock.
2) Single dads are way hotter than I previously thought.
3) It is possible to go from fantasizing about kissing someone to wishing they would be run over by a truck in a matter of two minutes.
Unfortunately, I don’t hold that opinion of him for very long. Not when he shows me a different side of himself—one that’s sweet as maple syrup and hot as apple pie fresh out of the oven.
Too bad this guy is so far out of my league that I shouldn’t even be allowed to enter the game. Jake doesn’t seem to get that memo though. And after a few days of working closely with him and his daughter, he starts looking at me with fire in his eyes, making me dream of something I probably shouldn’t…
A family.
Evie and Jake were absolutely adorable together! Their inner monologue and conversations between then were so stinkin’ cute. Evie was so strong to me. She walked away from the life that was set up for her by her wealthy parents to do what she loved. Not only that, she the way she didn’t let her disability hold her back awesome and she was truly passionate about helping others like her. Jake might have started off rude, but I soon came to understand and adore him. The way he loved his daughter and eventually loved Evie was a treat to read about.
“I want Jake and Evie. Stupid kissing profile pictures. Cute ringtones for the other person. I want serious. Exclusive. Us. I don’t want anything less than planning months out for a vacation and obnoxious Christmas cards that have you, me, Sam, and the dogs on the front. Can you handle that?”
See why I was smiling like an idiot? Gosh, I swooned! The only reason I didn’t give this one five stars is that I would have loved to see them in their actual relationship for a while. I did enjoy the epilogue and seeing how their life was like a few years out, I just wanted to see them actually be a couple in the present.
Overall, I really enjoyed this and can’t wait to read more from this author!
I buddy read this with the lovely Deanna over at A Novel Glimpse ♥
You totally captured why this was such a fun read. I was so pleasantly surprised by it! I thought it might be cute when you shared the blurb with me, but I had no idea it was going to be that fun to read. I can’t wait to read the second book later this month. I am so happy we don’t have to wait that long for it! 🙂 This was such a fun buddy read! Great review! (I’ll post mine Thursday.)

Sounds like a darling story, even though I am not a fan of illustrated covers …I am drawn to this one, so adorable. I do love seeing heroines especially be so driven in helping others, Its such an attractive feminine quality for me. You definitely convinced me I need to add this to my GR TBR.
Lovely review.
