They say when you assume that you make an ass out of you and me. Kenton Mayson learned this lesson firsthand when he made assumptions about Autumn Freeman and the kind of woman she is based on what little information he had. What he finds out is she’s not only beautiful, but also smart, funny, a fighter, and exactly the kind of woman he wants to share his life with. Autumn made assumptions of her own about Kenton, and now he needs to prove her wrong in order to protect her and their future.
I don’t know what took me so long to start this series since ARR is one of my favorite authors. It had the alpha hero that I love her for and a sassy heroine who made me laugh.
The title of this book really tells how this book starts out. Kenton made some bad assumptions about Autumn when they first met and it sets them off on the wrong foot. I really did wish he took the time to ask about her instead of fighting his attraction by reminding himself that she was a stripper. She was so much more than that. Thankfully he got his head out his ass pretty quickly and I was so glad about that.
“I’m in like with you,” I tell him, getting lost in his eyes.
“Yeah?” His eyebrow rises and he kisses my forehead.
“I’m in a whole lotta like with you too, baby.”
I loved the relationship between these two and reading about it growing into love. Autumn had a very bad past and closed herself off to even the thought of dating. Kenton slowly but surely broke down every brick that she put up. The sexual tension of these two living together while Kenton’s pursuing her and Autumn trying to fight it was amazing and had me not wanting to set my kindle down. The sex scenes were a straight up 10/10!
As usual with an ARR novel, we have a suspense element to it. However, I did find this one to take over a bit more plot than normal. We have some abuse scenes along with very violent actions. I didn’t really bother me, I just wasn’t used to it from reading her other series.
I did enjoy this one and I’m interested in reading the rest of the series. I hope all the guys are as alpha and gritty as Kenton was!
The sexual tension sounds delicious! I haven’t read this author before but looks like I should give them a shot!

Yes! I feel like ARR writes some pretty good alpha males! You’ll have to let me know if you pick up one of her books!
